Boris (Anatolyevich) Dolingo
Born in the city of Kokand (Uzbekistan, USSR). Since 1975, I have lived in Yekaterinburg.
Once, a well-known American writer said: “A person is the sum of the climates in which they have lived.”
I find this statement very accurate — at least in relation to myself. This journey — from Central Asia to the Urals — has shaped many facets of my character: a love for both the East and the West; a habit of relying on precision in everything (hence physics, logically structured plots, and editorial work); and a desire to create thoughtful worlds — whether in literary fiction, a song, or a cosy corner behind the counter.
I am the author of ten books, a dozen short stories, and over a hundred songs (in both Russian and English), some of which were created with the help of SunoAI. I work as an editor, reviewer, and currently serve as the Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Branch of the Union of Writers of Russia.
I am the recipient of several literary awards, among which the V. I. Bugrov Prize is especially dear to me — largely awarded for “service to the cause”: for editorial and compilation work in science fiction. For ensuring that the genre has not only striking covers but also a solid foundation.
